Methodologies towards Carcinogenic Phones

 So, one of the people I hang out with is a bit of an upper class white woman with upper class white woman spiritualities and mannerisms. Not in the harmful way--as she seems to be very resistant towards the stuff that leads towards White Supremacy, Misogyny, etc.

There have been a few cases where I've had to give her a bit of a heads up in regards to Dog Whistles (even explaining to her what that word means)--but for the most part... it is more in that "okay, she has a different idea of the cosmology than I do" area that well... it doesn't really serve even stating it...

Except when leading into some of the things she sounds that can sound like weird paranoid conspiracy theory stuff. While not necessarily being wrong, or really set on any specific bit of stuff

For the purpose of this article, one of the times I've talked with her, she mentioned viewing phones in much the same way she views cigarettes, weed smoking and vaping. Which, she has done a bit of stuff in each of those--but she generally is completely okay with having people smoke outside--and is trying to cut back (and maybe quit). With the difference being that you don't use a vape to communicate with other people... well, generally you don't--it isn't impossible to do that, and putting together a communication system with it does have precedent for construction

It was while I was talking about how Smart Phones are just useless ewaste for the most part. Generally just garbage waiting to end up in a landfill within a year or two

She was surprised that modern phones have batteries in bags. As that was something that struck her as the least safe part of stuff. I was more annoyed that the battery bags are soldered onto the board, making it really hard to eject them if needed. She made a comment that maybe the actual carcinogen effects comes from the battery bags, and not the EMR. Which is what inspired me to write this

First the incorrect answer: Microwave EMR

So, the typical suspect of what has people thinking cellphones are carcinogenic in their nature (or potentially so), the main suspect is the wonderful power of Electromagnetic Radiation. Why... it has the word "Magnet" in the title. Nobody knows how they work

I mean, we all know that Radiation is charlatan nonsense perpetuated by women. With the proper science being about ecto-plasm, ether and the raisin bun atomic model... I'm kidding

Now, the big issue is well, Microwave EMR sounds scary. It is what people use to be blasphemous towards tea drinking. And Cancer is caused by Radiation

Well, to explain how cancer comes from EMR, I'm going to have to ask you the difference between a meat tenderiser and a butterfly knife. Mostly: which has an easier time cutting people. It is the butterfly knife, because the force is being operated on a smaller surface area

The Ultraviolet Band of radiation operates on a similar "small surface area" method of cutting as the butterfly knife. If you put enough pressure on a surface, that would be. The Wavelength of Ultraviolet (or UV) is like a butterfly knife for molecular structures. Which, fun fact, your body is largely made up of molecular structures. All kinds of Amino Acids, Peptides, DNA, RNA and what not--they are all molecular structures that do not handle getting stabbed by UV radiation that well. Via "randomness" this constantly hitting your DNA with a butterfly knife of UV radiation can create a situation where you immune system has a larger load of "outsider cells" to deal with. Making it more likely it might miss some of them

Having a full on case of Cancer develop is kind of like your body losing a base in Missile Command. You want to reduce the amount of nuclear missiles that are cancer coming at your immune system military bases--as you have an upper limit that you can handle

Now, between Infrared(Ir) and UV is what we know as "Visible Light"--which is one of the smallest bands, before moving into others--and Visible Light is kind of like hitting molecules with a meat tenderiser. In fact when you see colours from Visible Light interacting with a substance, it is just the electron cloud responding to the Visible Light EMR

Again, a major portion is how much force is behind the surface area striking. It is possible to make stuff that is usually transparent to becoming translucent/glowing. If you are outputting force onto visible light in a way that is making the air in the room you are in glow--well, you are prolly already dead--but if not, you do not want to be doing it. It is possible... but it is one of those things that mostly excites physicists 

Infrared is closer to rubbing your hands, embracing or giving somebody a pink belly. Depending on the amount of force being applied to the "surface area" of the EMR wavelength

Now, try to guess which of those two, would be the orientation of Visible Light something scary like "Microwave Radiation" would be

If you guessed on the UV band--you'd be with a lot of people who find Microwave Radiation scary. Except Microwave Radiation are in the Ir side of things

It is useful for Microwaving Gerbils that it be on the Ir side

So, to help explain why this appliance is actually messed up, we need to talk about why Microwaves were invented. It was for the purpose of microwaving gerbils, hamsters, stoads, hares and other rodents

You see, cryogenic storage was an up and coming scientific field. With a beautiful future of cryotechs being a promising career path for many a young man out there

We were seeing plenty of rodent-sicles frozen in the ground, able to come back to life when stuff warms up. So it was put into conjecture and later hypothesis that this might be useful for people for various reasons

When warming up from the frozen state, it would be helpful if you could set up an array of heat providing elements to evenly warm up stuff from cryo-sleep

Science didn't just jump to testing on people. It started with smaller mammals. And Microwave Ovens were created for pulling small animals out of a cryo-sleep state in the most uniform least damaging manner

Unfortunately, we found that Cryogenic storage doesn't scale that well. With it getting to rabbits and hares being the point where you start seeing "freezer burn" become a really common issue. With it getting worse the larger the body mass of the mammal

At some point, somebody saw the Gerbil-Fryer-O-Matic and decided to heat up their soup in it. Maybe heat up a cold dinner in the thing that was usually loaded up with rodents in various states of defrosting 

Maybe avoid the Microwave for its origin of "Rodent Oven"--as oppose to the notion it infuses cancer into food. As well... the true story is more messed up--and more of a reason to grimace at the Microwave's general direction. And to never heat up water for tea in it... ever

Other Causes of Cellphone Carcinogenic Stuff is Possible

A lot of people prove that Microwave Radiation from a cell phone cannot cause cancer, and just call it a day at that point

Which is kind of silly, right?

I mean, first off, there are magnets all up in that cell phone--and nobody knows how those work

It is kind of not actually doing the full job of determining that a cell phone is not a product with carcinogenic properties to it--as there are other directions that a cell phone could cause issues

Lead based components

So, I already mentioned the battery bag... which a lot of a batteries will use lead in how they handle stuff

Well... they aren't actually "batteries"--they are more Chemical Based DC Current Generators. With the rechargeable ones just being able to have the crank wound back up

This brings us to the other "battery"--the ones that are more often called capacitors. Which, can contain lead in them. They can be soldered onto the board with lead based soldering

Then we also have the transistors that may or may not have lead in them

All of which are on a device that you manage with your hands and put into your mouth

People familiar with food safe are aware of the perfect issue of self-poisoning you are setting up here

Leaking Components

Capacitors burst... and it can not be as obvious this is happening. Mind you people tend to not easily notice "Spicy Pillows" in these same devices--which are also going to be leaking stuff

All it takes is an amount not visible to you getting on your hand--and then you to rub your eye

Again, we are talking about products with a Battery Bag Soldered onto the circuit board that cannot easily be changed out, repaired, replace or jettisoned

Heck, most of these devices will have broken screens--and it is not completely implausible that those screens would be carcinogenic once broken

Think of the issues with the screen like drinking the juice from glow sticks

While it is hard for me to claim that the various _OTHER_ stuff in a cell phone that could have carcinogenic nature applied to the cell phone is on par with smoking a chimney of cigarettes a day. It is not possible for me, at this point, to say the risk is not currently there

Especially for a product so cheap and poorly engineered that it has a battery bag soldered onto the damned circuit board. That, and if the OS crashes, you tend to have a bricked device (which is quite the oversight)

These problems could be fixed by having these devices made to be user servicable, and user repairable--as well as user upgradeable 

So... looks like not having these devices user servicable might result in them causing cancer is what this comes out as being

The issue with testing it... is all tests are based around the notion EMR is the source--and thus are sampled based around the notion that it would be EMR

But yeah... it isn't impossible cell phones are carcinogenic
