Plans for Further "Professionalism" Stuff
So, I do have a page explaining that my Works Quoted From exists as a form of Culture Jamming method to ape on stuff that gets used to make posts like this seem more professional than they rally are, there are a few things beyond that I do desire to do, in the area of Culture Jamming the notion of "Professional Looking Sources"
Culture Jamming, as a process, is a mixture of "saying what somebody else is saying in a silly voice" mixed with "saying the quiet part loud, and the loud part quiet". Usually in a way that is presented earnest enough, that it works to draw in potential things to watch out for, for the Culture that is attempting to be Jammed
Lots of people go more by Aesthetic than the Actual Actions/Behaviours of something--that it kind of becomes important to do stuff that has people realising this is a bad way forward
As a side effect, I can also have my products look professional, even though they really should not
Stock Image w/ Watermark Project
So, professional looking products do have those various "quotes" in them everywhere. Often with those quotes being stuff that is contradictory to them
On top of that they often will have images of people smiling or frowning, as necessary, that are generally either "generic nondescript photographs" or in the form of corporate art styles
The plan here, is mostly three fold. One is to build up a library of the most banal ridiculous photographs, two is to do up a series of quick drawings in a "uniform" style meant to draw direct comparison to various corporate art styles throughout the years, and the third is to cover them with ridiculous unignorable watermarks
The watermarks will not be to anything real. They will refrance various already existing StockImage, ifunny and 9Gag watermarks... with the added element of "No Trademarks Were Harmed In this Production". So something that is designed to give the energy or 9Gag existing in the background watermark style. Something designed to resemble the ifunny watermark at the bottom, top and middle of images. Based largely on the "screw not having that... ADD EXTRA IFUNNY WATERMARKS!" style of Culture Jamming concepts. With a fake cross design watermark in the form of StockImage on the front of the picture
The idea would be to make three seperate locations to get content, that do not actually exist, and have them all be present in at least the ridiculously banal photographs taken for this
Often with a story being told in what order the watermarks appear to have been applied, via nonstandard story telling elements. Because why not be a pretentious art-biotch in all the ways possible?
The photographs will typically be done in a mixture of "Sickening Saccharine", "Uncanny Valley" and "Taken Before the Disaster" at different levels for each of those "scores"
Like the "hang in there kitten", except it is clearly just something that looks like a kitten (but barely is not), with a nuclear bomb being dropped out of a bomber plane in the background
As I take them, I'll figure out what is required to have them CopyLefted or Creative-Commons or whatever. To allow the various stories and legends and myths about my greatness will be part of them. Some of those tales might even resemble something in truth (though, knowing how the Grape Vine handles stuff, not particularly likely)
In the case of the "drawn stuff"--it will likely just be stuff in my standard art styles (as I suck enough that I'm not able to do multiple styles). With the content and composition being a dark mockery of corporate art, merely by existing and not being corporate art
By having these things included on my posts, I will allow myself to benefit from the "photos means correct" element of online discourse
Potholing Links
So, something I will need to get around to, is find the parts of Blog posts that refrance things I've described in other Blog posts, and include a hyperlink to that other blog post
Often with a bit of a soundbite type quote of the article also being called in a spot near where the part of the blog has the "in paragraph hyperlink". The quote bit will also have a hyperlink to the entry, after the quoted section
This is a method that gets used in other publication mediums online to give more substance to the authority of the person writing the posts. Which, for whatever reason, works on people
It will also have other blog entries become "more discoverable" as a side effect of that. As right now, it seems people are only interested in reading three posts on this blog. I mean, they are pretty decent posts, sure, but like come on, man
Creating Video Versions
Honestly, The Pivot to Video(TM) was one of the main destructive factors of the Internet. Now a bunch of people have sunk cost fallacy, and all the "professional looking" sites will not have videos on their pages. Often it is just advertisements being played, but it is also video versions of the article itself. You know, because reading would have people less easy to scam and get to have the advertisers make money off of those people
Several of these articles, will, eventually have a video adaptation of the contents made. I keep telling myself that, at least
Though, I will, in order to change things up, have the video script not follow the actual blog post. Either adding material, or skipping over material. Changing what is covered, said and done in various ways. Not in anyway that would have one being viewed as less truthful than the other, but enough that people can (and will) give away whether they read the blog, or watched the video. Mostly just out of irritation for the rubble that The Pivot to Video(TM) has caused
Also, I do intend to start working on making fake advertisements to throw into the rotation for pages. These will work as "place holders" for pages that do not have video adaptations of their content (and for pages that will never have that happen)
These fake ads will act mostly in a way to mock/joke about ads that are everywhere in today's online echo system. To, again, work as a form of Culture Jamming--generally with the goal to add media literacy to people
It should be noted that these videos will _not_ be embedded into the pages. There will be a large "thumbnail" of what the video will be (just smaller than the resolution of the video). With the thumbnail linking to the site hosting the video (likely YouTube at this point in time). This is to be less rude than how a lot of professional pages do their stuff. The Thumbnail will very explicitly inform people it is form reasons of politeness
It should be noted, that this likely will later have me working on portrait mode shorts, to post onto YouTube Shorts, Red Book, TikTok and what half you. These shorts will generally be "out of context" versions of the full video. Typically not actually revealing what is said in the full video, just being a dumbdown bitesized version that incorrectly summarises the fully video(for the purpose of encouraging Media Literacy by going against intellectual laziness as the default). I suppose the fake ads could get this treatment as well. With a mixture of "quick bite ad", "normal Tv sized ad", "long form Tv ad" and "informercial sized ad"... though that would require more work, and not actually be worth it
ARG Additions
At this point in time, no ARG additions will be in place. The ARG additions will end up being a part of my "Great Work"... which while I have rather rudimentary plans as to the nature of my "Great Work", I will not be elaborating further on it, until I've gotten a decent amount of the actual work of the "Great Work" done
The "Great Work" for me to elaborate on, would need to be finished with an Alpha Stage of production, and be moving onto its Eternal Beta stage
With me joking about working to get it onto a Theta stage or Delta stage instead of doing a "Major Version"--because I am just that sort of COMPLETELY EFFING HILARIOUS DOUCHE MUFFIN BAG CANOE!
As the "Great Work" exists out of the Alpha Stage, then I will work on setting up ARG Additions related to said "Great Work"--and very likely add them into the blog, and perhaps rerelease videos and images that include these ARG additions into them. Likely in a way that is mildly jarring in its nature. Not overly jarring--like not enough to complain about. But enough that it feels less reasonable to moan about its unsettling nature, than them rearranging the grocery store, yet another time
The "Great Work" is still largely in an set of vague goals. That I working on various Subgoals of Subgoals to eventually get to something that will be called that. With me largely getting Art Grants to further its work, once it is at the point that I can feel like I am actually doing something with the Grant money towards The Great Work
I'm mostly just calling it "The Great Work" in a somewhat ironic fashion, in order to be silly
